Hello, I’m Krupa
I’m a trained research scientist. My PhD was in medical microbiology, focused on tuberculosis drug discovery, and I went on to do postdoctoral work in cancer immunotherapy and antibody engineering, all at the University of Cape Town, South Africa.
Across about 15 years, I published 23 papers, contributed to 2 patents, and worked with collaborators across Europe, North America, South America and Africa.
I've spent my career at the intersection of bench science and clinical application. I understand the complexity.
But I also realised that science only has impact when it's understood.
So I decided to build The Erudite (meaning "showing great knowledge or learning"), a studio focused on medical and scientific communication work, written and visual. It brings together everything I've learned: the scientific rigour, the storytelling, the visual thinking.
Based in Milan, I help researchers, agencies, and Medical Affairs teams turn complex science into clear, accurate content.
How I work
Working across South Africa, Europe, and international research collaborations shaped how I approach projects now.
I'm comfortable with complexity, used to working across disciplines, and trained to ask the right questions before starting.
I bring scientific judgement to every brief, manage projects with clear timelines and clean handovers, and hold the work to publication-quality standards.

Beyond the work
Outside of client work, I write on planetary health and human rights, including pieces for Greenpeace Africa and The Conversation Africa.
I'm interested in how science communication can support advocacy without losing its evidence base.
I'm always interested in new projects across therapeutic areas, especially work that sits at the intersection of complex science and clear communication.
If that sounds like something you're working on, I'd love to hear from you.
